Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

FishPond is developed and published by Evan Guthrie, operating as FishPond ("FishPond," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains data handling for the FishPond Android application and the website at fishpondgame.com.

2. FishPond for Android

The current Android release is a single-player game. It does not collect or transmit personal information, gameplay analytics, advertising identifiers, device identifiers, or diagnostic data to FishPond or to third-party analytics or advertising services.

The app does not request access to your location, contacts, photos or media library, camera, microphone, health information, messages, or other sensitive device data.

Local game data. Save files, game progress, preferences, and settings are stored only in the app's local storage on your device. This information is used to save and restore your game and is not sent to us. You can delete it by clearing FishPond's app storage or uninstalling the app. Copies managed by Android device-backup features are controlled through your device and Google account settings.

No accounts. The Android app does not provide account creation or login, so there is no FishPond account data to request or delete.

Other platform editions of FishPond may offer platform-specific services. The Steam-authenticated online Arena used by the PC edition is not active in the current Android release. If a future Android version adds online features or changes its data practices, this policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosure will be updated before that version is released.

3. Google Play

Google may independently process information when you use Google Play, including download, purchase, device, and diagnostic information. Google may provide developers with sales, installation, and performance reports, generally in aggregated or de-identified form. FishPond does not receive your payment-card details. Google's handling of this information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and your Google account settings.

4. Website data

The website and the Android app have different data practices. The website uses the following services:

• IONOS Web Hosting. IONOS hosts this website and automatically processes technical request information needed to deliver and secure it. IONOS states in its Web Hosting data-processing notice that it records the referring page, requested page or file, browser type and version, operating system, device type, access time, and an IP address anonymized when collected.
• Meta Pixel on the FishPond homepage. The homepage uses Meta Pixel to measure interest in FishPond and the effectiveness of promotions. When the Pixel loads, Meta may receive page-view and certain outbound-link interaction events, together with browser, device, network, cookie, and similar identifier information. Meta may use this information as described in its Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy. The privacy-policy page you are reading does not load Meta Pixel.

You can restrict cookies and similar technologies through your browser settings and the privacy or advertising controls offered by Meta. Blocking these technologies does not affect the Android app.

5. Information you choose to send us

If you email us or otherwise request support, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, name, message, and any attachments. We use it only to respond, provide support, protect the game and website, and meet legal obligations. Please do not send sensitive personal information in a support request.

6. Sharing and sale of information

We do not sell personal information for money. The Android app does not share user data. Website technical and measurement data is processed by IONOS and Meta for the purposes described above. Depending on applicable law, the use of Meta Pixel may be considered sharing for targeted advertising or measurement.

We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer. Links to Steam, itch.io, Facebook, YouTube, Google Play, and other external services lead to sites governed by their own privacy policies.

7. Retention and deletion

• Android app data: retained locally until you delete app data or uninstall FishPond, subject to any device backups you control.
• Support communications: retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer your request, maintain support records, resolve disputes, and satisfy legal obligations.
• Website service data: retained by IONOS and Meta according to their settings and retention practices. FishPond keeps only the reports reasonably needed for website measurement and operation.

To ask us to access, correct, or delete information you sent directly to us, email e@fishpondgame.com. We may need to verify your request. Because the Android app's save data never reaches us, only you can delete that local data through your device.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the limited information we handle, including HTTPS for this website and access controls for service accounts. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

9. Children's privacy

The Android app does not collect personal data from any player, including children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through support or the website. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information we control, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a copy of that information. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact us at e@fishpondgame.com to make a request.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when FishPond's features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top will show the latest revision. Material changes affecting the Android app will be reflected in the app and its Google Play disclosures as required.
