FishPond Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 4, 2026

FishPond is an offline-first pond simulation game. It does not have a FishPond account, a custom analytics service, public multiplayer, chat, or a developer-operated game server on Android. Game progress stays on your device in the current Android release. Google advertising and purchase services process some device, interaction, diagnostic, and transaction information. Google Play account age signals are used for age-appropriate compliance protections.

Age treatment and Google Play Age Signals

FishPond asks Google Play whether the account has shared an age range. Google Play may show its own age-sharing prompt. The app uses the range's inclusive bounds only to select child, teen, or adult treatment; it does not request a birth date or exact age.

FishPond does not persist the returned range or send it to Evan Guthrie, analytics, cloud saves, advertising partners, or support services. It is used only to apply age-appropriate compliance protections—not to choose ad topics, personalize ads, change ad frequency, profile users, or perform marketing or analytics. A bucket saved by older FishPond test builds is deleted and no longer used. If a range is missing, declined, unavailable, malformed, or awaiting verification, FishPond uses child treatment.

Data stored on your device

FishPond stores game progress, pond saves, settings, language, and whether Google Play reports that Remove Ads is owned. This information is used to run the game and restore your preferences and progress. It remains in FishPond's private app storage until you clear the app's data or uninstall it, subject to Android's device-level behavior.

FishPond creates local recovery files when safely replacing game data. These files stay in private app storage and are removed when app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled.

Child and unknown-age experience

For a child range or any unknown-age result, FishPond does not initialize Google Play Games Services or Google Play Billing. Purchases, Play achievements, and cloud saves are unavailable.

FishPond may show Google AdMob interstitials in this mode. Requests use Google's child age treatment, disable personalized advertising and remarketing, use a G maximum content rating, and are limited to Google Play Families-compliant ad sources. FishPond does not open the adult consent platform for these requests. The Google Mobile Ads documentation states that child treatment prevents transmission of the Android advertising identifier.

Local saves and Play Games

Google Play Games authentication, cloud saves, and Play Games achievements are disabled in the current Android release. FishPond does not upload your pond saves or progression to Play Games. Achievements and progress within the game remain local. If these online services are enabled in a future release, this policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosure will be updated to describe that release before it is made available.

Purchases for ages 13+

FishPond offers the optional one-time Remove Ads product through Google Play Billing. Google Play handles payment details and purchase records. The app receives product, price, purchase-status, token, and acknowledgement information needed to complete the transaction and restore the entitlement. FishPond caches only the entitlement state in private app storage and does not operate a payment server.

Advertising

FishPond uses Google AdMob interstitial ads. It does not use banner, rewarded, or app-open ads. Interstitials are limited to natural breaks after certain completed actions and are frequency-capped in the app.

Depending on age treatment, consent, region, device settings, and Google's current SDK behavior, Google may process IP address and approximate location inferred from it, permitted device identifiers, app/ad interactions, and diagnostic or performance information to deliver, limit, secure, measure, and report ads. Child treatment restricts identifiers and personalization as described above. FishPond does not sell this information and does not receive a list of your browsing activity.

Internet access and third parties

Android FishPond requests internet and network-state access to support Google Play Age Signals, the Google features described above, and opening this policy or support links in your browser. Core pond simulation and local Arena play do not require a network connection.

Bundled Google and Android components also declare permissions used for Play Billing, advertising and Android Privacy Sandbox features, wake/foreground operation, and protected internal message receivers. FishPond does not request camera, microphone, contacts, precise or approximate device location, photos/files, notifications, or another sensitive runtime permission.

The relevant third-party provider is Google. Its handling of information is governed by your Google settings and applicable Google terms and policies, including:

Website data

This policy also covers fishpondgame.com. The website and Android app use different services. IONOS hosts the website and processes technical requests needed to deliver and secure it. See IONOS's web hosting data-processing notice for its handling of requested pages, referring pages, browser and device information, access times, and anonymized IP addresses.

The FishPond homepage uses Meta Pixel to measure page views and interest in promotions, including outbound-link interactions. Meta may receive browser, device, network, cookie, and similar identifier information when the Pixel loads. Meta processes it according to its Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy. This privacy-policy page does not load Meta Pixel. Depending on applicable law, the homepage's use of Meta Pixel may be considered sharing for targeted advertising or measurement. You can restrict cookies and related technologies through browser settings and Meta's privacy controls; this does not affect the Android game.

Website technical and measurement data is retained by IONOS and Meta according to their policies and settings. External links to Google, Steam, itch.io, YouTube, Facebook, and other services are governed by those services' own policies.

Support messages

If you email for support, Evan Guthrie receives the address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to send. Support correspondence is used only to answer, diagnose, prevent abuse, and maintain appropriate business records. We retain support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve requests, maintain necessary support records, and meet security or legal requirements. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, or sensitive personal information.

Sharing and sale

Evan Guthrie does not sell personal information. Google receives data through the Billing, consent, advertising, and age-signal services described above. Advertising data may be shared for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention. Support and website providers process information needed to operate those services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary for safety, fraud prevention, or protection of legal rights. The app has no separate developer analytics or crash-reporting service; this does not prevent Google SDKs from processing the diagnostic and interaction information described above.

Security and international processing

FishPond uses Android private app storage, atomic local save replacement, HTTPS-only app networking, and the transport protections provided by Google SDKs. No system is perfectly secure. Google and support/web-hosting providers may process information in countries other than yours under their own safeguards and applicable law.

Retention and deletion

FishPond does not create a separate account controlled by Evan Guthrie, so there is no separate FishPond account to delete.

Children's privacy

FishPond is designed as a mixed-audience game with age-appropriate restrictions. Child and unknown-age users receive restricted, non-personalized, Families-compliant ads; purchases, Play authentication, achievements, and cloud saves remain disabled. Parents or guardians who believe a child sent personal information through support email should contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted.

Your choices and rights

You can play the core game offline without a purchase or personalized advertising. Online play with ads can involve the data processing described above, including for non-personalized ads. Eligible players can purchase Remove Ads, and adults can reopen available Google privacy choices from Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when FishPond's features, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be updated. Material changes will also be communicated through the app or store listing when appropriate.
